Presenter: Dr. Eric Herbranson

Endodontic access design concepts are changing as our understanding of the endodontic/restorative interface increases. We are starting to understand that to ensure restorative success we must conserve as much of the critical cervical dentine as possible. This naturally leads to smaller access preps and upper canal shaping, both of which could potentially complicate effective endodontic treatment. This course will present an access design philosophy that both conserves dentine while giving adequate access for effective endodontic treatment.

Course Outline

1) Describe the importance of the conservation of cervical dentine in the overall success of endodontic/restorative continuum
2) Describe and the demonstrate an access design philosophy that conserves cervical dentine without compromising endodontic success.
3) Describe the new access and shaping instrument and demonstrate their use of in creating these new access designs
