Saving a compromised bicuspid tooth as part of a full mouth rehabilitation

Patient: 60 year-old female with Type 1 Diabetes

Chief Complaint: Asymptomatic

Dental History: A full mouth rehabilitation was being planned and the patient’s dentist discovered a periapical radiolucency associated with the mandibular left second bicuspid (tooth #20) during the radiographic exam and planning. The tooth had been previously treated with endodontic therapy 40 years prior by an endodontist.
