In this webinar Dr. Pannkuk will highlight the common and exotic challenges that exist when repeating a previously performed endodontic procedure that has failed. Safe dismantling of crowns, removal of posts, silver points. Obturation carriers, cast cores, and pins will be shown. He will also discuss management of ledges, false paths, perforation, abused root termini, and the proper post endodontic restoration to increase fracture resistance.
The indications for surgical endodontic retreatment, combined approaches, and the decision to perform heroic attempts to save a tooth will be highlighted.
Critical thinking and the employment of decision trees and algorithms which explore all reasonable options will be demonstrated with the start-to-finish planning, execution, and maintenance of actual deconstructed cases.
As with previous PDL webinars, the program will be fully interactive with participants able to ask direct questions and challenge the philosophies shown.
At the end of the webinar the participant will understand:
1.The complex development of endodontic retreatment planning considering all important options
2.The safe techniques for removing previously placed crown and root restorative components
3.How to manage iatrogenic treatment complications that had been previously hidden or ignored
4.How to interpret a case prognosis, determine strategic value of the tooth, and idealize a treatment plan that best serves the patient’s dental needs
