Subtle Endodontic Disease is Often Ignored

Patient: 69 Year Old Male, controlled hypertension, with a history of heart attack in 2005 (8 years prior to the initial consultation)

Chief Complaint: sporadic headaches and occasional pain in the upper left jaw

Dental History: Previous endodontic therapy had been performed on tooth #14 20 years prior to the consultation. A crown was placed after treatment. No recent dentistry other than routine cleanings had been performed. The patient reported that he wore a night splint.
