Learn how to remove silver points in one piece

Case: Patient presented with a need for a new crown and internal retention on a tooth with previous silver point root canal treatment

Patient: 69 year old female in excellent health

Chief Complaint: Biting sensitivity on the lower mandibular posterior teeth

Dental History: The patient had a history of numerous crowns that had been placed years earlier that recently required replacement. While having temporary crowns placed on the mandibular right posterior teeth she developed localized biting sensitivity. Tootth #30 had previously been endodontically treated with silver points years ago. Her dentist referred her to the author’s practice for evaluation before proceeding with definitive restoration.
