Solvent Clearance of Gutta Percha (Video)

Terry Pannkuk, DDS, MScD Instructional, Retreatment Strategies, Gutta Percha Removal

This video demonstrates a more effective way to clear a root canal system of gutta percha during the cleaning and shaping phase of retreatment. The pulp chamber tends to cloud with stagnant pool of chlorofom as it rapidly evaporates but this is a better way to clear the choropercha residue as the agitation removes tags that stick on irregular dentin walls.
