All That's Gold Should Not Glitter

Terry Pannkuk, DDS, MScDInstructional, Post-endodontic Restoration, Esthetic Surfaces, All by Date

Description

This is my wife's gold crown immediately after microetching. Note the lack of glare on this sandblasted gold crown (even with the camera ring flash)

Why do we always polish gold?

Occasionally PDL will offer a simple pearl submission as an improved dental treatment suggestion. If you have a good one you would like to suggest please feel free to submit them instead of a case submission. If it's published on the website you will get a period of free access to the PDL website and recognition for your useful clinical tip.

How many times do you feel gold is the best restoration for a tooth but feel that your patient will not accept it esthetically?
